Life in Midden Point

The Heery Clan is a family spread across Malathia and the Free Islands. Eoin Heery was a navigator and Explorer who traded often with the Free Island. Lover of women, he had various offspring, two of them being the Heery sisters, Mallia and Tallia.
Mallia and Tallia, aged within months of each other, were brought up in the brothel in Midden Point as servant girls. Prostitution became their trade as soon as they came of age - the Madam of the house wouldn't feed two idle girls. Lady Mina managed her house in a way that indebted the women working for her so much that they would never leave.
Tallia always thought that her sister and herself could do better for themselves. So, in order to buy a better future, they supplemented their incomes with odd jobs around Midden Point right under the nose of Lady Mina.
Early in 1655, Mallia and Tallia had saved sufficiently to pay the Madam back. Then they took the first boat to the New World.

Journey to the New World

The journey to the New World was uneventful, though Tallia discovered a dislike for long journeys at sea. Who would have thought that the daughter of a sailor would end up sick as a dog on a boat? It calmed down after a few days and the two sisters ended up having a fun trip by ensuring that other passengers and the sailors enjoyed the trip as much as they did.

Hootenany, July 1655

Mallia’s Wedding
Hootenany is, for the Arteman family, the major festival of the year. During this particular Hootenany, it was decided that the Artemans would have a "Hitchin’ Day". This is a day during which any man or woman can propose marriage to any other man or woman. Rumour has it that it is very rude to refuse - during that particular festival, two people who refused to get hitched met with an untimely end.

During their wanders, Mallia and Tallia met with two men, Gabriel Fitzwaren and Ezekiel Arteman. Both asked Mallia to get hitched. Tallia did her best to push her sister into the arms of Gabriel, who appeared to be successful businessman. Unfortunately she had fallen for the REDNECK HICK.
Tallia, who always wanted the best for her sister, wasn't impressed in the slightest at her choice of husband. Unfortunately, she couldn't do anything to stop the wedding, though she tried hard. Even at the last moment before the wedding she tried to convince her sister, but to no avail.
Despite this slight setback, the event was a success for the Heery sisters, who then proceeded to entertain the New World to the best of their abilities.
